English description: On International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, we joined MetLife Foundation to reaffirm our commitment to the social and economic inclusion of indigenous communities in the countries where we work, recognizing the need and value of preserving cultural and linguistic diversity.

Las mujeres son pilares esenciales en las comunidades y pueblos indígenas que juegan un papel crucial en la preservación y transmisión de las prácticas culturales, conocimientos y lenguas.

Pero a pesar del papel crucial que desempeñan en sus comunidades como sostén familiar, cuidadoras y trasmisoras, a menudo sufren niveles interseccionales de discriminación por los motivos de género, etnia y estatus socioeconómico.

Women are essential pillars in indigenous communities, who play a crucial role in the preservation and transmission of cultural practices, knowledge, and languages.

Despite this crucial role they play in their communities as breadwinners, caregivers and conveyors of knowledge, they too often suffer intersectional levels of discrimination on the basis of gender, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status.

That’s why Trickle up and MetLife Foundation reaffirm our commitment to working for the social and economic inclusion of indigenous peoples in Mexico and other parts of the world.
