WILLIAM ABRAMS, PRESIDENT, TRICKLE UP
2019 will be our 40th anniversary it’s a big deal because there are over 300 million people in the world who live at the level of poverty where we work.
We’re a catalyst we help poor people start businesses, save money, build a better future for their children
But at the end of the day it’s the people themselves who are the heroes of this story.
Millie and Glen Leet were visionaries. The original DNA that they injected into Trickle Up in 1979 is still there today. I’m not sure they could have even imagined the progress we’ve made.
The fact that we’ve been around for nearly 40 years is evidence that this works, it’s needed. The fact that we’re now gaining momentum and growing fast suggests that we can ramp up our impact tenfold or a hundred fold.
We have the ability to end global poverty. There are no excuses for not doing it.
