Avinash Rath joined Trickle Up as Global Digital Technology Manager in November 2020. He focuses on leveraging technology, as an enabler, for efficient and effective decision making and program delivery.

Avinash has 17 years of professional experience in Information Technology, including software development, capacity building, program management etc. During his time in the social development sector, Avinash has worked with several multi-lateral organizations and international NGOs and spearheaded more than 60 IT interventions related to health, nutrition, child protection, livelihoods and WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene).

In his last organization, Avinash served as a Chief Delivery Officer (IT projects) and Chief Technology Officer. His primary focus was introducing efficient software development methodologies and approaches, designing scalable solutions, and ensuring that the solutions are aligned to the larger objective of social development. He has also been engaged as an IT advisor to the National Health System Resource Centre (NHSRC), India for the design of a comprehensive national level heath service monitoring system. He believes in Open Source philosophy and advocates a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) model for sustainability of the digital interventions in the social development space.

Avinash earned his Master’s degree in Computer Science from Utkal University, India.
