Suchandra joined Trickle Up in 2021 as the Monitoring, Evaluation and Research Lead in India. She has over 22 years of experience in the development sector in the thematic areas of livelihood, urban and rural development, poverty alleviation, Panchayati Raj and local governance, WASH, health and family welfare, gender issues and education.

Prior to joining Trickle Up, Suchandra served as Director Client Solutions in the Social & Public Enterprise Division of Nielsen India Pvt. Ltd. At Nielsen, she has successfully managed more than 100 studies for Government of India, state governments, bilateral and multilateral agencies, local and international NGOs and think tank organizations. Suchandra has rich multi-sector experience, and has led different kinds of studies, including baseline surveys, concurrent assessments, end-line assessments, impact assessments, where she has undertaken end to end research. She has travelled widely across rural India, while monitoring fieldwork and is aware of the fieldwork considerations of different states.

Suchandra has a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Jadavpur University Kolkata and master’s degree in urban planning from School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi. During initial years of her career, she was involved in number of projects with application of geographical information systems and was part of the team involved in preparing digital maps for close to 100 large cities in India and geo-demographic analysis. Suchandra undertook a short-term assignment at Nielsen MMRD (Yangon, Myanmar) and played a key role in establishing social research unit in Myanmar.

Suchandra loves reading fiction, listening Indian classical music, cooking and gardening.
