Abril de Belén Alfonzo Salinas
Abril is a trained agronomist from the Autonomous University of Chiapas - Campus V. She previously worked in a strategic project on food security, implemented in the northern region and highlands of the state of Chiapas. This work with the Kellogg Foundation allowed her to promote and support indigenous and local food sovereignty, nutrition and agroecological production.
As a facilitator for the MENTOR project at Trickle Up, she built strong relationships with the communities we serve in Chiapas and the southern region of Mexico.
Abril is passionate about the economic and social empowerment of women, issues related to food sovereignty, food security and agroecology, and is excited to deepen her understanding of the solidarity economy.
