
Binoy Majumder
Binoy Majumder has over a decade of experience working with esteemed institutions such as Virginia Tech University; University of California, Davis; Cornell University; Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal; and the National Museum of Denmark. His professional journey has been rooted in grassroots development research, monitoring and evaluation (MEL), and the design of context-sensitive programs across rural and remote regions in India and Bangladesh.
His areas of expertise include high-frequency survey design, real-time digital monitoring, GPS-based mapping, and participatory rural research methods. Throughout his career, Binoy has remained committed to supporting marginalized and climate-vulnerable communities through evidence-based development initiatives.
Binoy was born and raised in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. He graduated from Ramakrishna Mission Residential College, Narendrapur and holds a Master’s degree in Sociology from Indira Gandhi National Open University. Beyond his professional pursuits, Binoy is passionate about photography—particularly capturing human stories in natural settings. He is also an avid reader with interests spanning history, politics, and science, enjoys listening to folk and rock music, and finds relaxation and inspiration through gardening.
