Jo Sanson
Jo Sanson is Trickle Up’s Senior Director of Monitoring, Evaluation and Research. She has over twenty years of experience in international development, working on poverty alleviation, human rights, civil society development and disaster recovery.
Since joining Trickle Up in 2009 she has focused on the inclusion of highly marginalized individuals and households in economic strengthening programs, their integration in national social protection schemes, and systems to track social and economic development to guide program delivery and design.
Prior to joining Trickle Up, Jo served as Regional Development Manager for the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia, in Kazakhstan, where she also consulted for UNICEF. Jo was the team leader of a joint Australian and Canadian Red Cross tsunami recovery program in the Maldives, focused on community and policy development. She also coordinated Red Cross tsunami recovery work in Sri Lanka. Jo started her career in international development with Oxfam’s Central America programs supporting community development and indigenous rights.
Jo has a Masters degree in International Development from RMIT University in Australia. She has published extensively including on program impacts and intersections with disability, gender, and age, and program delivery mechanisms including the use of digital tools.
