Josh Leighton

Josh Leighton has nearly 20 years of experience designing and implementing food security and livelihoods (FSL) programs in a variety of humanitarian and development contexts. Josh got his start working as a US Peace Corps volunteer in Mali. He continued working in the Sahel region of West Africa, and then in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, with Action Against Hunger International. He then worked with Save the Children UK for more than 10 years, initially as part of their global Humanitarian Surge Team, and then as the Regional Humanitarian FSL Advisor for Asia. Most recently Josh worked with Oxfam America’s Disaster Risk Reduction team.  

Josh is proficient in French and is currently working on improving his Spanish. He has a BA in Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin and an MA in International Development from the University of Denver’s Graduate School of International Studies.
