Mary Sheila Montero Gutiérrez
Sheila Montero holds a B.A. in geography from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and a B.A. in accounting and finance with a specialization in international business.
She has worked for local and international organizations such as Safe Water and Ocupa tu called. She has more than 10 years of experience working for both urban and rural community projects on issues such as natural resource management, recovery of public spaces, and access to water and sanitation. She is also part of Equipo Social de la Dirección de Obras "UTOPIAS."
She has been recognized by UN Habitat and received an award for her work on housing during the COVID-19 pandemic, titled 'Acción por la vivienda y los asentamientos frente al COVID-19.' She also received the Angel Bassols award at the national level from UNAM in 2017 for her international contribution to the construction of water footprint indicators.
