In 2000, Trickle Up helped launch 12,940 new businesses – an increase of 46% over the previous year – benefiting 39,129 business owners and their families. The total cumulative number of businesses started since the organization’s modest start in 1979 topped 95,000, paving the way for a celebration of the 100,000 business in 2001.
Trickle Up immersed itself in strengthening our institutional foundations and structures to provide a more effective and efficient organizations prepared to expand the work of alleviating poverty worldwide in the years ahead.
