Mariana B. Vanin
Mariana B. Vanin joined Trickle Up in 2021 as Director of Communications. She was responsible for leading the organization’s global communications strategy and telling our story with impact.
Before Trickle Up, Mariana worked at the Coalition Against Trafficking in Women, where she rose through the ranks to become Communications Director. She gained experience in global advocacy on women’s rights and human rights issues, and strategic communications for social change across platforms and audiences. During her time there, she spoke several times from the floor at the United Nations, including at sessions of the UN Commission on the Status of Women. Prior to CATW, Mariana spent a term in the PR agency world, honing her communications skills. She began her communications career at the Women’s Fund of Miami-Dade, at the time a local nonprofit grant-maker specialized in funding programs supporting Miami’s women and girls.
Mariana holds a BA in International Relations with a Concentration in Political Science from Wellesley College. Born in Brazil and having grown up in Miami, she also speaks Portuguese and Spanish. She’s passionate about the rights of women and girls and crafting messages that tell an impactful story. When she’s not hard at work, Mariana is Latin dancing, attending the opera, sipping a well-crafted espresso with a good book, and walking a mile in her favorite museums in New York City.
